March 21st , 2017: Under the patronage and presence of H. E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture & Knowledge Development, the 2nd Annual All India Management Association (AIMA) India- UAE Conference was held today in Dubai. The event was organized under the theme “Resetting Globalization: Collaborating in a Fast Changing World”.
Sunil Kant Munjal, President, AIMA thanked His Excellency for his patronage for the conference and taking special interest in building bridges between the business leaders of India and the UAE.
India’s ambassador to the UAE, Navdeep Singh Suri was also present on the occasion and he also addressed the conference. He lauded the growing trade and investment between India and the UAE.
The special session on the healthcare sector involved many key industry leaders from both countries and they discussed the ways to adapt to the new innovations and technologies in healthcare to become more competitive. The speakers in the session included B R Shetty, Founder & Chairman, NMC Healthcare; Azad Moopen, Chairman & Managing Director, Aster DM Healthcare; Suhail Mahmood Al Ansari, Executive Director, Mubadala Healthcare; Arvind Lal, CMD, Dr Lal PathLabs and Punit Malik, Group President & Global Head, CFUIB, Yes Bank.
Another key session was on the banking and financial sector’s transformation by financial technologies. It involved discussions on the revolutionary technologies such as blockchain and robot finance besides overall digitization of the sector. The session was addressed by Sunil Kant Munjal, President, AIMA and Chairman, Hero Corporate Services; Arif Amiri, CEO, Dubai International Financial Centre Authority; TV Mohandas Pai, Senior Vice President, AIMA and Chairman, Manipal Global Education Services; Adeeb Ahamed, MD, LuLu Financial Group and Dr. Tayeb A Kamali, DG, Education Training Development, UAE Ministry of Interior.
The discussions on the retail sector focused on the growing role of technology and innovation. The session was addressed by Paras Shahdadpuri, Chairman, Nikai Group of Companies; Ramesh Cidambi, COO, Dubai Duty Free and Akhil Bansal, Deputy CEO, KPMG in India.
The delegates at the conference included high-profile delegations from companies from both India and the UAE.
